EAST AREA SERVICE USER NETWORK
Fareham Gosport Havant and Petersfield
One in four of us is a user of mental health services.
If you are that one then this may be for you!
TELL ME MORE
The Service User Network came about because of the National Standards of mental health. Those who use the services are needed. We need you to get involved in how services in health , social and voluntary sectors are set up, delivered and evaluated.
In this way the voices of the users are heard. Free training and full support is available and any existing skill WILL be made use of!
FACTS
Service user representatives sit on the Locality Implementation Team. We need the support of other users for the information to be fed back to us. This could include information about housing, GP and community services, in-patient and residential services.
There are also sub-groups on Mental Health and the Law, Day Opportunities, and many more that affect our daily lives.
There are payments for expenses and no one is just thrown in at the deep end.
ADVANTAGES
This is not about token views. We now have the chance to have a say about what we want.
This can only be good for how we feel about ourselves.
You will have a role description tailored for you. The experience you gain along with new skills can be of use to you when seeking or returning to employment.
You can meet and make new friends in a supportive atmosphere.
