Community Development Workers aim to work with black and minority groups (BME) in the area to promote mental health and well being within the community, as well as working with services to help them understand the needs of their local communities better.

This can involve:

Supporting BME communities to access local services.

Increase communication between communities and services.

Assist with bringing communities together – helping communities to create groups etc.

Highlight the importance of faith and culture in today’s services.

Support communities to have their voices heard.

Provide information on mental health and well being services.

To prevent services being delivered on stereotypes of peoples needs.

To ensure communities have as much information as possible to make informed decisions themselves.

To reduce feelings of isolation and improve well being.

To ensure equality within our local community.

They offer support, advice and information to both service users and community members, and no referral is needed, simply contact the details below.
